About
I’m Alexander Dahlin, a passionate Software Engineer specializing in graphics and rendering. I currently work as a Rendering Engineer at Crytek, where I contribute to CryEngine and Hunt: Showdown – 1896. Previously, I earned a master’s degree in Game and Software Engineering from Blekinge Institute of Technology.
I am proficient in C++ and have extensive experience in real-time rendering, low-level graphics APIs (including D3D12 and Vulkan), CPU and GPU optimizations, console development on Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PlayStation 4, memory management, multithreading, and working with large codebases.
My journey in software engineering began in high school when I started learning C++ and D3D11. From an early age, I was fascinated by how real-time graphics work. I deepened this interest during my master’s studies at Blekinge Institute of Technology and have continued to pursue it through various hobby projects. These projects allow me to explore and experiment with new technologies and techniques, serving as a creative outlet where I can innovate without constraints and continually challenge myself to learn and grow.
In the ever-evolving field of software engineering, especially within graphics and rendering, staying current is paramount. I am dedicated to continual learning, regularly diving into the latest research, technologies, and methodologies to remain at the forefront of my field.
When I’m not immersed in code, I spend time at the gym and have competed in amateur bodybuilding. To relax, I enjoy playing video games or watching movies with my significant other.
